“where the heart is” – Pliny the Elder
“not where you live, but where they understand you.” – Christian Morgenstern
“the place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in.” – Robert Frost, The Death of the Hired Man
“wherever I’m with you.” – Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, Home
“Where Your MOM Is” – Vermont Teddy Bear
‘Home’ is not necessarily a place, but a feeling that is described as: where people understand you most, where you are accepted and supported, where you are unconditionally loved, and ultimately, where your heart is.
It appears that these are all places where we could find a really great MOM! Remember that on Mother’s Day it’s the moms, step-moms, grandmas, and aunts that really make you feel at home! Give them the recognition they deserve for being accepting, supportive, and loving throughout your entire life!
So Happy Mother’s Day to all those PAWsome moms out there! Be sure to give your mom a big BEAR hug for everything she has done for you on May 13, 2012!

Mother’s Day is on Sunday, May 13th this year–only a couple weeks away! We are BEARy glad to have such great moms in the world, and even more glad we have a day dedicated to celeBEARating them!
On Mother’s Day 2012, we celebrate moms, step-moms, grandmas, aunts, and those who have simply felt “like a mom” to us throughout our lives. No matter who she is, she watched you grow and nurtured you with love and care! Just like a garden, watching and helping someone grow takes time.
So thank you, moms! You are patient, loving, and nurturing and you help the world grow–we think you deserve big Bear hugs for that!

Wow! Your brother or sister, son or daughter, niece or nephew, grandson or granddaughter are about to walk on stage to receive their diploma! What a great accomplishment! This is certainly an event worth celeBEARating.
Your grad has worked very hard for many years to get to where he or she is today! There were certainly many instances of staying up all night to write papers, nervously putting together presentations, and cramming for that exceptionally difficult exam. High school and college graduations are times to step out of your comfort zone–to choose a new place to go to school, a new place to live, or a new career path–so don’t you think these grads could use a little comfort in their lives?
Is there anything more comforting than a Teddy Bear? We certainly don’t think so. When your grad moves in to his or her new apartment all alone, who will be there to give hugs in times of need? Giving a Teddy Bear as a graduation gift is the best way to send your grad off with encouragement, best wishes, hugs, support, and memories.
Is your loved one graduating from or on the way to medical school? Doctor Bear has the cure!
Does your grad have an interest in or a degree from culinary school? Cooking Chef Bear will give you a taste of what you’re looking for!
Is your grad moving on to become a great graphic design professional? On the way to art school? Artist Bear will paint a perfect picture of your grad’s future!
Congratulations to the class of 2012! You did it, and you should be proud! From the wise words of Henry David Thoreau, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you imagined.” Break out of your comfort zone and into a new and exciting life! Just remember that your Vermont Teddy Bear will always be there to keep you company and provide loads of hugs for all the tough and happy times ahead!

Four very lucky Wingman Contest winners (Claudia, Julianne, Jennifer, and Brandy) received a Big Hunka Love Bear and JetBlue tickets to surprise their Valentine for Valentine’s Day! Read all about their long-distance love and see photos of Big Hunka Love Bear’s adventures below:
Claudia met her Valentine on her first day of high school, only the feeling wasn’t mutual. Evan was a senior and teased her. Even though they went on to marry others, Claudia always thought about Evan. Years later, she reconnected with him and they clicked. “It was everything a high school girl could have dreamt of,” Claudia said. “It was total, wonderful, romantic true love.” The only problem was that Claudia now lived in Los Angeles and Evan lived in Washington D.C. They’ve had to bear a bi-coastal relationship for 11 years! Learn more about Claudia and Big Hunka Love Bear’s adventures here.
Julianne’s Valentine isn’t her significant other, but a three-year-old boy named Lucas, who has an immune disorder called Hyper IgM syndrome. He and his family just moved to North Carolina for a minimum of six months so he can receive a bone marrow transplant. “Lucas’ mother is the sister I never had,” Julianne relayed. “I’ve known her literally my entire life, and it’s been very difficult for me to watch her go through this from Connecticut, her home state, and not be able to offer any help except from afar.” Learn more about Julianne and Big Hunka Love Bear’s adventures here.
Jennifer has only had one true Valentine since the day she was born – her father. “My father has always been my biggest fan and has supported me through everything and anything,” she relays. Jennifer lives in Albany, New York, nearly 3,000 miles from her father in Seattle. The distance means that they miss out on important milestones, including the birth of Jennifer’s daughter, Audrey, last year. Her favorite memory with her dad is from the day her daughter was born. They connected on video chat, and her father tried to act like he wasn’t crying when he saw his granddaughter for the first time (Jennifer knew better). Learn more about Jennifer and Big Hunka Love Bear’s adventures here.
Brandy is in a long-distance relationship with her avid-skiing, fly-fishing boyfriend. Brandy lives in Vermont and travels back and forth to Breckenridge, Colorado to visit her main squeeze. Her two daughters have never met him but have referred to him as “Cupid,” ever since he left coins for them as a gift on a recent visit. Brandy looks forward to uniting her three loves with a Big Hunka Love Bear on the mountaintop in Colorado. Learn more about Brandy and Big Hunka Love Bear’s adventures here.
Stay tuned for future contests!
