Quite a Family!
By Wendy | June 1, 2010

Many thanks to Harry Prestier for sending in this great letter and photo. To address your questions, Harry, we actually do have a Grandpa Bear. And although you and your family have a very impressive collection, we do have folks who’ve sent in pics with a few more. I’m working on getting an exact number for you.
To All,
Enclosed, please find a photo of our “gallery” of Vermont Teddy Bears. As you can see, we have a few. These Bears are the combination of three families. We started collecting the Bears in 1996. We bought them for different occasions and themes, such as me working as a limo driver, our daughter on an Equestrian team, and my son-in-law in the Coast Guard. I then decided to get a Bear addressing each vacation. As you can see there are Bears for Hawaii, Alaska, Panama Canal, Oregon, and Route 101, and the National Parks (Arizona & Utah). As you can see it has become a tradition.
Our daughter and son-in-law gave us the Bride & Groom Bears for our 25th wedding anniversary. Two Bears we cherish the most.
You will also notice we sent one to our daughter when she was expecting, as well as one to our first grandson and one to my wife as the new grandma (Hint: how about one for the grandpa?).
We cherish all 28 Bears. It would be interesting to know if anyone has as many as we do.
Just thought you would like to have this information and photo to let you know from our family to yours.
Thanks again for the good work.
Harry & Gail Prestier, Stephen & Joan Batson, and Josiah, Karyn, & Cody Gatto

Hey Lucie. Wow! Taking care of that menagerie must be a full-time job in itself. You know, we sometimes post pictures of people’s Vermont Teddy Bears…just sayin’… [;-)]
